  • How to re issue I-94 on the new passport ?

I have came on L1B as intra company transfer & it is valid till May 2014.

But my I-94 is being expired in December, 2013, becouse my passport was expiring. Now i renewed my passport in US, and need to renew my I-94 w.r.t. my new passport.

Now what is the best ways to renew my I-94. I don't want to go to India during that time, as it will be costly for me.

First option, try going to nearest CBP Office and explain them the situation. If they agree they may issue an I-94 till May 2014.

Second option, apply extension using I539.

Apart from these two the third option is obviously to leave US and re enter, but then again, the I-94 issued might well be only till May 2014.

This is my opinion not legal advice.

If Indian passport yes, it can be renewed up to 1 Year before expiry.

Your previous visas, I-94 remain valid. Only thing you have to carry both old and new passport while travelling.
