Regarding Social Security Number of L2 Bdependent VISA holder

Hi everyone,

I would like someone to kindly clarify my below query

My wife is in US for 3 months duration in L1B VISA (although she got 3 years validity)and she already got her SSN. I am planning to visit her in US for 20 days in november. Is it mandatory even for me to apply for SSN for 20 days ?

I would really appreciate the response in advance.
