Online Approval Notice

Hi,

1) I am currently on L1 with employer X and have applied for the status change to H1 with employer Y.
2) The start date of work has been given while filing the H1 petition as 1st Oct-2005.
3) I can see online that my case has been approved on 16-Oct-2005. The next step is to receive the written approval.

4) Now I can't give notice to employer X as employer Y has not received the approval notice paper.

Q1 - Question is can I join new employer Y on the basis of online approval?
Q2 - If answer to Q1 is No and the written approval reaches new employer Y on 30-Sep-2005, how can I join Y on 1-oct-2005?

Your valuable response will solve my dilemma and be highly appreciated.

Hi,

you have to apply for "change of status" sice you are now on L1.
Getting the approval notice in hand is not the important thing.

Thanks Biju for the reply.

But I had applied for change of status during H1 file and the new i-797 and i-94 comes with validity from 1st-0ct-2005 to 30-sep-2008.

So I don't understand what do you mean by applying for status change again.

Pls. explain...
