  • Queries on L2 visa

Can you please help with my below queries?

1.I have a valid L2 visa and applied for L1 last month, but my L1 visa was rejected. In this case, will my old L2 be still valid?
2.I am working for a company ABC and hold a valid L2 visa. Should I go to US on a tourist visa and apply for EAD and come back and work for the same company. Once EAD is approved, can I travel in the L2 visa from the same company and work in US or Do I have to leave the current job in India to join the same company in US?

What about your spouse? Is he/she in US on L1? Are you in US? Till when is the I-94 valid?

L2 is a dependent visa without knowing the status of primary L1 holder its difficult to assess your questions and suggest thereon.

This is my opinion not legal advice.

If your spouse's old L1 expired in July 2013, how come you received an L2 beyond that date?

If your spouse attended new L1 interview why didnt you also attend the L2 interview with her?

        1. You can travel with your old L2 visa , if still valid.
        2. Why would you want to travel on tourist visa when you already have an L2? You cant apply for EAD while on tourist visa. You have to travel on L2 visa in order to be eligible for EAD. Once EAD is approved you can work for any willing employer in US.

L2 Kid Dependent Visa on L1A

          Hello

I was in the US for 9 odd years with multiple H1A extensions. I got back to India and considering divorce of my wife and return just with my younger son on L1A Dependent Visa. Can his dependent visa be done on my L1A than his mother ? Earlier when I was on H1A his H1B was done along with his mother. He is 14 years of age.

My elder son is already in the US on F1 Student Visa. My second son is struggling with allergies in Bangalore and hence wanted to get back to the US on L1A so that my GC can be faster.

Please revert whether it is feasible to do a dependent visa holder for him as a single parent ?

          Regards

You are confusing L1A, H1B, H4, L2 visas. Primary visa holders will typically be holding L1A/H1 visas. Dependents will have L2/H4 visas.
