I am getting transferred to US next Feb on L1 visa . I am also getting married sometime end of next year (I will come back for the marriage). My visa process will start in couple of weeks .
Is it better to let your company apply for your spouse L2 Visa along with your L1 visa ?
If its better to apply for L2 along with L1 can I just do a court marriage for this purpose only and later get married in a social manner (We will be living together only after hindu ritual marriage I will take my wife to US after social marriage only) .
-> To get a marriage certificate I have read in forums that the visa officers need invitation cards , marriage album etc . Since we are not going to invite anybody to the marriage , is it fine if we donot have invitation cards. We can arrange for photos of court marriage though . But she wont be living with me after the court marriage.
- > And can the visa officer reject the marriage under Special Marriage act (Court marriage) and deny the visa. then will it becomes very difficult for my GF to receive a USA visa even after our Social wedding ?
