Is is possible to give L1B interview in Mumbai ? OR Chennai is compulsory?
Also how many years visa is getting approved? Is it 3 yrs for all? Or depends case to case ?

As per my knowledge, L1 Blanket interviews are done only at Chennai. If approved generally its for 3 Years.

Thanks ragvi. I heard that it could be given in Mumbai thts why i asked, also nowdays H1B is getting stamped only for 1 year. So i was having concern about the L1b

Blanket L Visa processing to move to the U.S. Consulate General in Chennai on December 1, 2011.

The U.S. Consulate General in Chennai will become the sole acceptance center in India for all applications for intra-company transfers under the blanket L category as of December 1, 2011. The U.S. Embassy in New Delhi and U.S. Consulates in Mumbai, Kolkata and Hyderabad will no longer accept or process applications for this visa category. The blanket L category includes specialized knowledge professionals, executives and managers.

As for H1b for 1 year, the job requirement and petition may be valid only for year hence the person got for a year. L1 blanket petition have indefinite validity, hence unless the visa officer feels otherwise, usually L1bs are given for 3 years.
