I am working in a software company based out of New Jersey but we have many offices & huge number of employees in India.
My current L1B Visa & 194 got expired in Sep 2013. My company files L1B to L1A visa conversion & the petition was denied on 11/19.
My company is yet to receive the denial notice & I will be travelling back to India in a week's time.
My company is ready to file another visa from India in premium processing. My role is of manager in the project.
Looking at the current trend I would like to know which visa category has better probability in India L1B or L1A?

If your L1B to L1A was denied then there is high likelihood the L1A will be denied at a US consulate in India too. But if you can really work on the shortcomings and the rejection reason you have a chance. L1As are generally more scrutinized and expectations are generally more than being a Project Manager. Broadly speaking one should be managing Managers, many times both technical and functional ones, as well have financial and people authority in organization to have decent chances of L1A approval.

There are no statistics available with respect to probability but the general trend in my opinion in terms of difficulty is L1A Blanket > L1A Individual > L1B Blanket > L1B Individual > H1.

This is my opinion not legal advice.

My company is planning to file another L1B or L1A visa from India. Is there any rule that I have to be in India continuously for 1 year in last 3 years.
In 2011 (Aug-Sep) I was in the US for 5 weeks.
In 2012 Jan I came back to the US again & since then I am here.
        Please advise.
Kindly also advise if I can face any issues in meeting eligibility criteria.
