  • L1B blanket chances

Hi, I am a new member to this thread. I have a basic question on L1B visa. I am an MS grad from US and BTech from INdia. I have 10+ yrs of exp in DSP and ASIC in Video display area of mobile and DTV gadgets (all in India) and have more than 15 patents on my name. I have lots of R&D exp. I am tfrred to US on L1B blanket on a 100k+ USD sal. Will be going in for visa interview shortly. What are my chances of getting or rejected in the visa. I heard that there are lots of rejection these days.
Can anyone answer. I have been to US many times on B1 visa for paper presentations, company meetings, conferences etc

It is very difficult to put a number in terms of chances as it depends upon a varying factors. More than your qualifications and skill sets, visa officers look at what proprietary product or service of the Organization would you be working on. If they get convinced that you indeed are one of the few in the organization who can do that then you have decent chances.

This is my opinion not legal advice.

Thanks for your reply. I have brought in to the company a new area ie DTV video chips and algorithms while the co is a market leader in mobile comm. Just for argument sake, how will the visa officer know how many people are in the co with my background, how crucial my background to the co is etc. No one is an expert in any Co except the inside management. If this is going to be only on the basis of Co's declaration and intend, this should be visible by the salary and their offer letter and Sponcership support documentation, Isnt it. (obviously in addition to the credentials of the applicant)

This is the reason the onus is on the sponsoring company to prove that you are unique to the company. One should provide documentation in terms of training and hours on those training you have attended, work you have performed, number of people having similar skill sets etc. USCIS many a times have raised RFEs askign for such.

            Hi
I attended the Visa interview today., Very simple, only 4 questions, Which co u work for, what do u do, your salary here and there. Got the visa for 3 years. Only 15 minutes it took and I am back in my room after 20 minutes.
