  • Dependants on L1 VISA in US

    Hi experts

I am currently employed in the U.S. on L1 VISA since 2 months now. Can i bring my parents to live in US till i am working there and how tedious or long is the process?

Parents are not eligible for the L2 dependent visa. The best option for you to try to get them here would be to process a multiple entry visitor visa (b2). Chances of them getting B2 visa would depend upon their ability to demonstrate ties to home country. If approved, its generally valid for 10 years but one continuous stay can at max be 6 Months (if I-94 granted ) with possibility of seeking extension.

You have to be careful though, too long stays on B2, frequent extension requests , or frequent visits to US on B2 can attract unnecessary scrutiny.

This is my opinion not legal advice.
