  • Will applying L2 along with L1 Blanket complicate the process?

    What is advisable?

My husband is applying for L1 (blanket petition)? Should L2 be applied at the same time or once his is approved?

How much does it usually take (L2 process)?

Why not apply together and get it done over with. Though it doesn't make any difference but avoids the hassle of doing the process twice - one for the L1 and once again for the L2.

This is my opinion not legal advice.

I think you should apply together. Remember L1blanket is to be applied in Chennai only. Visit Chennai if u are not from Chennai and be done with that.

Hi Raghvi - I was looking at your response here and it makes absolute sense. I just have a small situation and realized this while filling DS160 and wanted to clarify on this thread as its related to L1 & L2.

I would be appearing for an L1B Blanket and like you & nsrini suggest here folks at my employer also asked me to get the dependants along with me and get done.

Now I have my wife and daughter(2.5 yrs) who would need to accompany me.

Since my Wife's passport never went for a renewal after our marriage her passport carries her maiden Last Name; however since we have joint bank accounts etc and Marriage certificate as well; when my passport went for a renewal after marriage, I had her added as spouse with my name as the Last name.

My Daughter's passport also has her name with my name as last name in the Mother's name field. So except her passport (which was issued before marriage) we seem to have consistancy. Could you advise if this would create any confusion in scheduling my appointment with them.

Also should We change her last name in the passport before her L2 or do you think this is common and will not have any bearing on the Visa stamping

Any response/advise would be greatly apprecitaed!!!!!

        Thanks

Your marriage certificate is sufficient. Also carry couple of photos of wedding ceremony.

I agree, as long as one of you have the spouse's name, and your daughter has both of your names I dont see any issues. Do carry the marriage certificate.
