L1B to H1B Transfer - What will happen if I travel?

Hi,

I work for company 'A' in L1B visa from 2010. The petition was extended and I have I-94 till Jul-2015.

The same company 'A' is planning to apply H1B this year 2014.


1. What will be the impact on the L1B to H1B transfer, if I travel to India by May 2014 and come back by June 2014?

2. What will be the impact on L1B stamping in India, during my travel?

1. If you travel while COS is pending, it will be considered abandoned , and most likely get approved as consular process.

2. H1 and L1 are independent so I dont see an impact of H1 processing on L1.

Also, have you thought of a back up plan in case your L1 is rejected at the consulate?

I do not have any alternate plans in my mind, if my L1B stampping gets rejected.

What options I may have. Please sugget.
