Impact of name change in indian passport on L1B and B1 Visa - NEED HELP

Hi Experts !

I have a question with regard to ADDITION OF SURNAME to my name in Indian passport .

Currently I am in Minneapolis ,MN on L1B Visa that is vaild until June 2015 .I also have a B1 Visa that is valid until Feb of 2018.

I have learnt that with addition of the surname I will get a new passport and old passport stands cancelled .BUT is there an impact on my L1 B visa AND B1 visa .Can they both be valid or any issuess there ?

i had same issue,
my surname was missing and i had the US B1/B2 visas
so when i got new passport with surname inserted i contacted US consulate and they informed that i should carry both passports with me while travelling and shouldnt be an issue and i travelled recently and there was no problem

but better to verify other people experience
