  • DS-160 form query for spouse (L2)

    Hi Team,

I got my L1 visa issued from Hyderabad,India in the year 2010 and its already expired.

I am planning to apply for L2 now (as my spouse company is sponsoring for L1). I have doubt in filling the DS-160 form.

At one page., after I fill all the my previous L1 visa details (visa number, date of issue etc.,)..its asking me "Are you applying in the same country or location where the above visa was issued and whether the same country or location is my principal of residence.."

Do I need to mention yes or no here ?.....

    please clarify

      Hi,

I am confused because are they referrring the country / location where my visa was issued (i.e hyderabad, india) or the country / location where the visa was issued to ...(ie..USA)...

If they are referring India., then my answer would be yes...but if they are referring USA., my answer would be no..

So not sure which is right here..

      please clarify

      regards
      shan

They asked "applying in the same country" so your answer would be YES if the earlier L1 was also applied in India.

Further, only US issues L1, I dont think any other country gives L1 visa. So L1 visa would always be "FOR US" but would not be issued "IN US"

This is my opinion not legal advice.
