  • L1B Blanket Stamping in Canada - please suggest

Hi, I have my L1B Blanket interview in Montreal, Canada this week. Could you please share your experience if you have been to this consulate for L1B interview?

My home country is India and I am working in Canada on a work permit since Nov 2012. In Dec 2012 and May 2013, I applied Visitor Visa for US from Canada and it was rejected both the time due to 214(b) eligibility criteria. They asked me to apply from India or to build economical/social relationship with Canada. I also did a big blunder while applying for the visitor visa in May 2013. For the question, "have you ever been refused a US visa" in DS 160, I answered no because I was in an assumption that My application was rejected in Dec 2012 because of my ineligibility to apply. I was bombarded with questions because of this during my second interview and my visa was rejected again. Though I showed them my previous denial notice and tried to convince that I did not try to hide it, they were still not convinced.

I am really worried about this incident. I have completed all my L1B docs with my company's review and everything looks correct. Will my previous incidents and rejection affect L1? Will they ask me questions about my previous incidents and will it influence visa denial this time as well?

Thanks for your suggestions on this.

You should not have omitted the previous denial. They normally dont take such an oversight casually.

Previous denials does cause a flag to be raised but as long as you have valid L1 documentation to prove your specialized skillsets and other requirements I dont think it will be an issue.

This is my opinion not legal advice.
