I currently work for a Japanese corporation, that would like to send an engineer to the US to help with one of our subsidiaries in the US. We would however like to avoid having our US subsidiary pay his salary. Instead, we would like to setup a branch office in the US, and have his salary paid through the branch office in the US from the company headquarters in Japan. My question is if this "branch office" in the US can sponsor his L1/L2 visa. Any feedback/suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you
