L1 Petition validity

Hi,
My current L1 visa stamping on the passport is valid till Jan 2018.
But on the I-129S petition, the validity is till Jan 2016.
So, should I got for a new visa stamping after my petition expires ?

Since your L-1 visa stamp in your passport is valid until January 2018, you should be fine.

If your L-1 status (listed on your I-94) expires let's say in four months, you should file for an extension either through USCIS or you can travel and renew your L-1 status at a U.S. Consulate/Embassy abroad, but that would also mean you'd be renewing your L-1 visa stamp.
