  • I-129 S Not Stamped , but L1B Visa is Stamped after 221g processing.

    Hi,

My L1-B Visa interview happened on Nov-19-2012 at Chennai Consulate , and I was put under 221g admin processing. After 6 months , ie on Jun 22-2013 I got my Passport back , with L1 -B Stamped. My travel got inititaed now, and am supposed travel by May 1st-2014. Last week I came to know from my Immigration team that I need i -129 S to be signed from the Consulate. What I have done is , I wrote a letter requesting for the I-129 S Signed to be couried from the consulate.
    Questions are

    1. Do I really required Signed copy of I-129 Sin Port Of Entry.I have two other copies of the same doc which is unsigned.
2 . Is this right procedure ( Writing a email to COnsulate and waiting for the Signed I-129 S)
    3. How soon I will be getting this ?

Can any one share these kind of experience.
    Thanks In advance,

    Sid

From my experience (used to work at an business immigration firm), the U.S. Consulates/Embassies sometimes stamp and sometimes don't stamp the I-129S forms. It depends on the officer. It should be fine.

    Cheers,
    Jackie

        Dear Mohammed,

I have exactly the same issue. So let me ask you how you managed to resolve the situation? Did you have any problems on entering the US? What was your port of entry?

And I would like to thank Jackie for the answer, that was really important for me to hear.

        Thanks,
        Ann.
