L1A Visa to Green Card - How much time ?

Hi,

Have few questions about L1A to green Card processing :

1. When someone enters into USA on L1A, do they have to wait for some time say 6 months for applying green card?
2. How long it takes to get the green card when applied for L1A visa person?
3. Does automatically family is covered when the L1A person applies for Green card?
4. What if family is in India and L1A person applies for Green card, will family be also part of Green card?

Hi there,

1. Not really if you choose to go through the EB-1c process instead of PERM. You must have been employed for one year within the past 3 years by the foreign affiliate, parent, subsidiary or branch of the U.S. employer and you must be working in the U.S. in a managerial/executive capacity
2. It depends. If you go through the EB-1c process, USCIS is currently reviewing I-140s filed in October 2013 so they're pretty backlogged. Then after you file your I-485, that can also take a couple of months to get approved.
3. Your dependents can apply for the green card along with you by filing the I-485
4. If your family is in India, you'll need to sponsor them and file an I-130 family petition

However one doubt here....
I-130 family petition has to be filed when family reach USA or can it be filed even when family is in India .
