Hi there,
I have been working in city A in the US for over a year on an L1a visa from an Indian company. I got married in India in November last year. My wife was (and still is) working in city B in the US on an H1b via.
Upon our return to US in December, we applied for a change of status for her from H1b to L2 along with an EAD. The intention being that this would provide her more flexibility in finding employment when moving to city A and further it would make employment optional when we decide to start a family.
We have been tracking the progress on the USCIS site and it has already been ~4.5 months. A couple of weeks back we placed an Expedite Service Request with USCIS and we were told by a Tier 2 officer that we should hear from them by May 10.
Last week I had to come to India on very short notice due to a family medical emergency and I am currently in my home town. My wife is still working in city B. I plan to return to city A on May 11.
I remembered that we had provided my I94 as part of the application package for the L2/EAD.
I am curious if this will in anyway hamper our application process?
