L1A Visa to Green Card

Hi all,

I just want to understand what is the process of getting a green card if I have L1-A visa and how long it will take.
I heard that I have to apply for H1 visa first from L1-A and this is a sort of draw every year and if I am luck I will get first the H1 visa and after that I can apply for Green Card.
Is this true, or is there an other way to get the GC though L1-A

How long have you been on L1A status? Is GC being filed under EB1/EB2/EB3?

It takes typically 8-12 Months to get a GC if filed under EB1 category. If your company doesnt file under EB1 category you are looking at 6-10 Years wait time and would eventually have to move to H1 in order to continue working in US while GC is in process.
