Hello

My L1B expires early next year and my company is planning to renew it. Post that they are looking to apply for my GC next year too so that by the time my L1 B extension runs out, I get my labor certification post which I can continue to work.

I wanted to check whether that's true. Can I continue to live and worn in the US even if my L1 has run out on the basis of my Labor Certification for GC?

If GC is applied in EB2/EB3 and you are from India/China then its not possible. One cannot stay on the basis of Labor, one needs a valid visa till the priority date becomes current. For EB2/EB3 , for Indian/Chinese citizens its a 8-12 Year wait period, so you have to eventually move to H1.
