L1 visa advice.. Lose job what are my rights! URGENT

Hi I am in the US on a L1 visa. I have good reason to believe I am going to lose my job on Monday morning. I was out on a training course last week and while I was out a lot of people lost their jobs. I spoke to my boss and he said he would only talk to me in person and did not put me at ease.

So I am fearing the worst,...

My questions are as follows If I lose my job ?

- Can the company actually let me go while I am on a L1 ?

- If they do, do they have some legal obligation ?

- Can I transfer my visa to another company if they hire me ? is there a time limit?

- If they do let me go, what severence deal do I get ? Is it comparable to a US citizen ?

If they let me go? What time do I have untill the INS hunt me down?

- Can I claim benefit ?

- What happens if I get sick between now and next Monday ? What are my legal rights ?

- If I marry my girlfriend who is a US citizen, how long will it take to get a green card? Will I be forced to leave in the interm ?

Any advice would be appreciated...

First of all L1 visa is meant for intra-company transfer. ie..company in foreign country(like India) will transfer their employees to their offices in US. I am not sure how legal is it to remove their employees while on L1.
