  • L1B was approved by VO but online status shows administrative processing

I don't know how many people have experienced this issue. My L1B Blanket visa was approved by VO at the Toronto Consulate on July 11th, 2014. They took my passport and told me my passport should be ready for pickup within 2 to 3 business days.

However I just checked my visa status on the CEAC website:

It shows my visa status is 'Administrative processing'. What does this mean? I wasn't given any indication that my application will undergo any further processing. I've searched online, and people seem to say all U.S. visa will be shown as AP if they are being printed and applied to the passport and the status should be updated to Issued within 1-2 business days, but some people have experienced longer delays, and a minority did appear to be put under AP even though they were told by the VO that their visa was approved.

Anyone had the same experience before? Do all approved visa get put into AP status after the interview?

Technically 2-3 Business days havent yet passed so wait till middle of this week before drawing conclusions. At the same time Admin Processing can happen at any time, so till you actually get visa in passport you should just patiently wait this period out.

This is my opinion not legal advice.

      Update

Just to provide an update on my case. I've been stressing out all weekend, and was constantly checking CEAC for an update. Until noon today it still showed as 'Administrative Processing', but just now around 1:30pm it was updated to 'Issued', happy :-)
