Chennai consulate interview - Is baby allowed

Hello,

We (me and my spouse) have a scheduled L1 visa interview at Chennai consulate. My daughter is US citizen, so she doesn't have an visa interview/appiontment. Since she is just 1.5 years, I wanted to know if we can take her into Embassy/Consulate along with us during our interview. Will she be allowed without an appointment. Is there any way I can inform to situation Embassy so they can allow my daughter in with us?

Any info on this is greatly helpful.

Hello...Just wanted to let know. The US born baby was allowed into the Chennai Consulate without appointment, we just had to take baby's original USA passport and PIO/Indian Visa.

Thanks for this info Su29. My spouse and I are also planning to go for H1-B renewal in Dec'14. Did the security officers ask you anything before letting you in with the baby? Did you have to explain anything to them wrt taking your baby inside the consulate without appointment? Any pointers here will be really helpful, thanks.
