Hi! I'm an L2 visa holder with an EAD. I'm not working currently as I'm interested in pursuing my higher studies. I heard that dependents such as L2, H4, etc are not eligible for student loans. Is that so? Should I change my status to F1 or J1 in order to avail such loans? In that case, should I go back to my country for the change of status? Please advise me on the same. How long does it take for the process?
