L1B stamp with H1B status travelling to cananda

Hi,
I have a valid L1B visa (till sep 2015), but my current status is H1B with no stamping (Change of status).
Now i am planning to visit canada for few days. When i come back to US, in what visa status will i be admitted?
Since i only have L1 visa stamp, if i am admitted as L1, will there be any problem since i am not with the company which sponsored my L1 and considered illegal?
Please advise.

You cannot enter US on L1 visa as you are not working with the L1 employer, you would have to go for H1 stamping interview and get H1 visa stamped in passport in order to be allowed entry in H1 visa.

If you do not wish to go for stamping interview currently, would advise in not going ahead with the Canada trip.
