L2 to L1A - Maximum period of stay

Hello,

I am planning to convert from L2 to L1A. Been on L2 for the past three years. Will the period of stay on L2 status be considered for calculating the period of stay on moving to L1A? Or since L2 is not an employer sponsored VISA, new period will start when we move to L1A?

Please someone explain.

L2 stay period would not be considered for calculating the total period of stay.
