L2 Visa correction process
I was issued a L2 visa, however there was a printing error in the visa category. It is incorrectly printed as L1 instead of L2.
I did not notice this and upon arrival to the U.S., I was informed by the immigration check-point that I need to correct this in any US consulate (overseas).
For now, the immigration check-point has issued me an I-193 waiver and granted me entry to the US until May 2016 (which is the visa PED - Petition Expiration Date).
They also mentioned that in case I exited out from the U.S. and subsequently wanted to travel back, I would be denied entry to the U.S. if my visa category was not corrected.
I was not able to find the details for the visa correction process on any of the websites and hence seek guidance for the same.
Need help on the below questions:
1. What is the process & documents required to correct the Visa Category?
2. How much time the overall process take?
3. I have an EAD issued on my current L2 visa. In case, if a new L2 Visa is issued after correction, does that invalidate make my EAD ?
