  • L1b Visa

    Hi,

My L1b blanket visa is expired. I am on I94 in US.
I am planning to extend my extension of stay from US (I94), however I am still confused, whether I should apply from US or go to India and apply for fresh visa. Pls advise.
If I get approval of extension of stay in US, would my family is eligible to get L2 visa approval from India to travel to US.
My visa got approved 2011, however I travelled one year late, I m on i94 now, for how many years extension I can expect

    Please advise. Thanks!

General perception is that its easier to get fresh L1B at a consulate outside US than getting extension approved from within US. But I dont entirely agree to that, it depends upon how strong your documentation is.

Also L1B is for a Max of 5 Years of physical stay in US. So you do the math as to how much time you have already spent in US.

This is my opinion not legal advice.

Thank you so much for the reply. I agree with you completely that it all depends on paperwork.
I also want to know if my I94 get extended here in US, would my family can apply renewal of visa and travel to US? Please advise.
