I had my L1B Petition Approved - filed for by my employer. However, there seems to be a change of mind, and I have now been asked to move to London, instead of the US. In such a scenario, is is still advisable to get the L1 stamped? What are the consequences if I have an approved petition, but do NOT get my L1B visa stamped?

But I would suggest you get it stamped, as then if there is an opportunity for you to move from UK to US you need not go back to your home country for L1 stamping. The downside is that you would have to face an L1 interview now, for a project which you would not be eventually working, as you are moving to UK , so risk of rejection.
This is my opinion not legal advice.
