Does passport has to have of marriage reference for L2?

Situation:
I will be applying for L1 along with my wife (L2). Both of passport (mine and my wife's) doesn't have mention of marriage.

Question:
Do we need to apply for new passport by mentioning our marital status as 'married'?

Not required, marriage certificate should suffice. Yes, for future purposes, if you plan on having kids, at least one of you need to have the spouse names for getting the child's passport.
