Need advice on visa type i.e. Visitor visa or L2

My wife is in NJ for an official trip on L1 visa and is returning back in 2nd week of Mar 2015. I wanted to visit her in NJ for about 3 weeks. My query is that which visa type should i be applying for i.e. Visitor or L2?

I had earlier applied for visitor visa (when i was unmarried) last year but was rejected twice (Aug 2013 and Sep 2013). Please suggest.

I would suggest go the L2 route.
