L1-individual VISA and changing job within the company

Hello,

I'm currently on an L1-individual VISA and am looking to change my job-profile within the same company.

The responsibilities in the new role are going to be slightly different. Please let me know if it's possible to change the job-role within the same company while I'm on an L1-individual VISA.

The HR mentioned that we might need to file an amendment to my current VISA petition. What happens if this is required? Does it mean that I'll have to re-appear for a VISA interview?

It's valid till March-2016.

Your original L1 was approved for a particular skill set/specialized knowledge so if you are moving away from that , you would need a new I129.

You would need an amended I129S, if that is approved, you need not attend a new visa stamping. If it is denied you should not do a job profile change within same company.
