L1b extension approved after 240 days stay period

Hello Everyone,

I applied for L1b extension in July, 2013 under normal processing. I waited for 240 days period after Visa expiry and then returned back to home country.
Last week in Dec,2014 I got my L1b extension/petition approval. I am not sure what will be the process to return back to USA.

Any useful information will be much appreciated.

Has your L1B visa stamp in the passport already expired? If yes, you would have to attend new visa stamp interview in your home country. Fill up online DS-160 using the approved petition details, pay relevant fees, book appointment(s), and attend the visa interview.

One more doubt, will it be fresh Visa interview or I will get some approval benefits and it will be only visa stamping?

All interviews are treated equal and merits of the case. There is no inherent "benefit" for having got the extension approval.

Many Thanks Raghvi, I really appreciate your valuable information. Is it possible to withdraw approved petition? I want to apply L1a visa instead of L1b.

Now that you are outside US, technically no need to withdraw the L1B approved petition as such. If you plan to apply L1A how will you prove one year outside stay in Managerial capacity? Speak to your company attorney.
