Status Change L1B to L1A : I-94 Concern

Dear All,

Currently , I am on L1-B with Visa and I-94 Validity till Feb,14,2015.
My Employer has applied for Status change to L1-A in Aug,2014. Received an RFE in Sep,2014. RFE response was sent on Nov,2014.
Status in USCIS is "A response will be sent before Jan,18,2015".

As my Visa and I-94 will expire by Feb,14,2015 , to be on safe side I would like to get I-94 extension, so that I can stay
I am seeing following options and require your inputs
1. Go to mother country and return, so that chance of I-94 extension at Port Of Entry.
2. Go to Canada and return, so that chance of I-94 extension at Port Of Entry.

Please let me know which options is good or let me know if you have other option for me.

As your visa is valid only till Feb 14 2015, its very unlikely that merely going to home country or neighboring country will stretch your new I-94 beyond Feb 14 2015.
