  • Do I need to wait for EAD card to start working on L2 visa?

    Hi,

I would really appreciate a second opinion on this matter.

I have worked in the US on H1B in 2012-2013. Now, I am moving back on my spouse's L1 visa as an L2 dependent. I obviously have my SSN etc. in place. I already have a job lined up as soon as I reach the US. However, I have been told that I will need to apply for an EAD card to be able to work. This usually takes about 90 days to arrive and so I am wondering if I can still work while my EAD application is in the process?

You have to await your EAD to be approved in order to start working while on L2.

This is my opinion not legal advice.
