Applying for EAD while staying in US with L2 WAIVER status

Hi,
Can apply for an EAD with my L2 waiver status?
I lost my passport and UCICS cancelled by already existing visa till Dec 2015 and issued a waiver for me at the POC. I worked on an EAD before and that expired in Sep 2014.
Another thing that I am not sure of, is .. if allowed do I apply for a new EAD or apply for an extension?

I dont think you can use the waiver to get a new EAD. I would say get a new passport and get a new L2 visa to sort this out.
