My wife and I both hold Indian passports. We are currently in UK on a visa. My wife got transferred within the same company, from India to UK, and I am currently unemployed in UK.
Now, once again my wife is getting transferred within the same company, from UK to USA, and on L1 Visa. So, I will be getting L2 Visa and I have several questions in this context:
1) Do you think I should focus on getting my own H1B visa sponsored? Or is it easy enough to get job with L2 Visa? (We still have around 2 months before we go and our L1-L2 visa application process hasn't started yet)
2) Can I start working with my L2 Visa without EAD?
3) If EAD is must, then
4.a) How long it would normally take to get it?
4.b) Are there ways to fast track the process?
4.c) Until I get EAD, would I be able to at least contribute my efforts to NGOs (without pay)?
4) I have earlier worked in US for quite sometime, and already have my SSN, will this help in any way?
