L1 to H1B COS queries

Hi,

I am currently employed with Company A on L1B visa since June 2012. Company A is filing for an extension in May 2015 (under normal processing) as the visa and i94 are getting expired in June, 2015. I presume it takes around 3-4 months for normal processing so I am expecting the decision would come in July/August. Current extension rejection rate is very high so I am looking for H1B which company B is ready to file (but only as COS not as Counselor Processing) .

I have following questions :
1. If the H1B application (COS) is picked in the lottery, and L1 extension is also approved and I want to work on L1 with company A how can it be done?
2. If H1B application is picked up in the lottery and L1 extension is approved and I go for vacation to India(before October) can I come back on L1 (post L1 stamping) ?
3. If the answer to question 2 is 'Yes', What happens to approved H1B petition ?
4. If L1 extension is rejected after H1 has been picked, I understand I will have to leave USA however will I have any problems in H1B stamping as it is done by company B?
5. If the answer to question 2 is 'Yes', Can I use approved H1 application if I have to change the company later?

If your H1B is picked up in lottery, the petition remains valid for 24 months. Within that time frame you are free to playaround with your L1 visa.

And it does not matter if your H1B is stamped by a different organization as long as it is done lawfully.
