Hi,
I arrive in the US three years ago under an L2 visa with a work permit (my wife is an L2)
After two years, when my work permit came for renewal, my company transferred me to an E2 visa.
I am now considering switching shop and would like to revert back to an L2 visa and I am wondering what the best way to doing so is:
- Firstly, is it possible to revert back to an L2 visa?
- Can I do that while working at my present company? Or do I have to follow the following steps: leave my present company, then apply for an E2 and then apply for a work permit (meaning being out of work for a few months) before I can join a new firm?
- If that is case, will I be able to remain the US while the application is being considered?
- When I first applied for an E2 + work permit, I had to wait for several months after the E2 got approved for my work permit. Since I had that in the past, is the process the same?
- Are there any other option I should consider to switch job while minimizing to the maximum the amount of time spent out of job?
Thank you!
Best Regards
Xavier
