I am in Boston on a L2 visa granted for 2 years. I got married recently and my husband is working on L1 visa at the branch office in Boston of his company whose headquarters is in Canada.
Just before marriage, I got admission into Universities in Boston who sent me the paperwork for F1 visa, but I came on L2 visa. I will be joining my masters in August 2015 in Boston.
My husband now wants to go to Canada and let me stay in Boston to complete my masters.
So, we have the following questions:
1) Please advise as to how to convert my L2 visa to F1 visa while in Boston?
2) Even if my husband goes to Canada, can I continue to stay in Boston with my L2 visa for 2 years?
We would appreciate any other advise you may have.
