L1A Clock Reset

I am in L1A and max out date is OCT 2016. I am planning to relocate outside US and stay there for 1 year and come back in same L1A Visa.

I have below questions. Kindly clarify

a) Can I enter after 365 days with current visa before OCT 2016?
b) Will I get another 7 year term if I apply for extn using same petition upon returning back?

1. Yes.
2. No. Clock reset happens if one applies under fresh petition after staying out of US for 365 days or more since you will be using the same petition it would not reset the clock.
