L1B is valid, But I-129S expired, can I apply L2B for my spouse?

I have got L1B visa from 2014 April to 2017 April. But in my I-129S only validity has given for 10 months. So my I-129S expired already. My I-94 is valid till 2017.
I have been working in USA for last 7 months. Now I want to apply L2B visa for my wife.

1. Will this I-129S expiry creates any problem?
2. If so what is the procedure to extend I-129S.

Due to this I-129S expiry my friend got lot of problems at immigration. After 8 hours only they allowed to enter into USA.

Please help me in this.
