So I'm presently on an L1, but the company is restructuring and so I'm being made redundant as of later this year. Keen to stay in the country and so maybe simply accelerate the process of marrying my girlfriend, who is US born and raised. I understand I could potentially qualify for a one step adjustment via marrying a U.S. Citizen? Is this correct. In CA, I think you can get married pretty quickly, but once I've submitted the paperwork, how long does the process take and does one get an interim work permit or something to allow you to work whilst it's presumably going through the machine...
