  • Applying for L1 visa while having an F1 visa

Hi. Please help me resolve a doubt. I recently got an F1 visa and I will be starting my studies next year. The company I am working for wants to apply L1B visa for me. If my L1B visa gets rejected, will my F1 visa be cancelled? Also what happens in case L1B gets accepted?

    Thanks for your help

I dont think a rejection of L1 would affect your F1. If L1 gets accepted, the consulate may or may not cancel the F1 visa. If they cancel your F1 you would have to re apply in order to get it. If they do not cancel your F1 then you would have both L1 and F1 in your passport, that means as and when you enter US, you have to tell the officer on which visa you are entering and show supporting documents.

This is my opinion not legal advice.
