Switching jobs on L1B visa with green card application underway
Hi,
I am an Indian national and have been working with my company for 7 years. The company moved me to US 2 years ago on an L1B visa. They have now filed the paperwork for my green card application. Since I am looking at a ballpark of 10 years to get the green card, I have the following questions
1. How long does the EAD usually take to come in? (ballpark estimate)
2. At what point in the process do I get the freedom of switching employers without any restrictions? From what I have heard it is after the EAD comes in
3. Can I switch companies before my EAD comes through? If so, what are the restrictions.
4. My wife is working on her L2 dependant visa. How will she be affected by (2) & (3)
