I am currently in US on L1 Visa which is valid till Dec 2015. My employer is applying for my L1 visa extension, off late I have heard some rejection cases for the same and I just wanted to know if someone in this forum knows if I stand a better chance of approval if I apply for extension from here or if I go to India and have an interview conducted.
I just got to know that if L1 B extension is applied from US, then till the time my visa is decided, I cannot visit India in-between. If I visit India during the petition pending status, then my L1 B extension visa application becomes in-valid. And as per past trends, it usually takes 6-8 months to get the visa decided. If that is the case, then I would prefer to apply the visa extension from India rather than US. Please confirm my understanding and guide accordingly regarding where should I file the visa extension. Also, as we know L1 B rejection rate is too high, please suggest where should we file the application.
