  • Require new I94 after replacing stolen passport

    Hi there,

So my sons passport was stolen while on vacation, we had to get him an emergency travel document which the consulate put the new visa (L2) in. So far so good. The emergency travel document has a 9 moth expiration though, due to run out in November, so his I94 expires in November also. My I94, as the L1 holder, will not expire until 2017. I just received my sons new passport the other day and I assume I need to get a new I94 for him? What are my options? I am in the States already.

    - Can I let his I94 expire? I read somewhere that it is my I94 (L1) that matters (not sure if that was good info though)?
    - I also saw that I can use form I-102 to replace the I94 at $300+!
    - Leaving the country and coming back in again isn't really an option at this point.
    - I tried to get it fixed at the Airport, but so far have had no luck.

    Thanks in advance

    Mike
