L1 Visa Expired but I94 valid

My L1B Visa is going to Expire on Jan 2016 but I have I94 Valid till Jan 2017. If I will goto India on Oct 2015. Do I neeed to file a extension or is there any issue to come back to USA?

You visa serves as your entry permit. If you go to India, you might not be allowed to re-enter US with the same visa if there is only few days reamining on it to expire.
