  • Indefinite Blanket L1 petition, Valid L1B visa stamp , I-129S expired.

Following are the dates on my different immigration documents:

    Country of origin - India

    I-94 - 12/05/2017
    I-129S - 10/17/2015
    Visa trype - L1B

    Blanket L1 petition - indefinite
    Visa stamp on my passport:
    Issue date: 10/19/2012
    Expiration date: 10/17/2017
    PED date: 12/04/2014

    Following are my concerns:

1.) My understanding is I can continue to stay and work in US until my I-94 expiration date i.e. 12/05/2017. Is that right ?

2.) If I plan to travel overseas, do I need to go to a US consulate to renew my visa (as I-129S is expired) ?

3.) Can I-129S be renewed while I am in US, what is the general timeframe. And assuming if I-129S is renewed, can I travel and work until my I-94 expiration period ?

Your Visa should have matched the I129s and I-94 should typically match the visa. The problem crops because each is given by different department. I think you need to get yourself a new I129S by filing for its extension.

This is my opinion not legal advice.
